'No.1' and 'No.2' in the Brushstrokes Series. Both are painted with acrylics and gold metal foil on stone paper. 33 x 41 cm each.
In the Brushstrokes Series I am exploring the expressions of the painted brushstrokes. I would like to achieve a beautiful chaos, catched in energetic moments. I look upon them as portraits of powerful brushstrokes. Theses works draw on traditional asian ink painting and calligraphy, combined with Western references such as graffiti, ancient Nordic runestones, and my Nobel Prize portraits.
